ABOUT

INSPIRED BY NATURE

Growing up in the countryside, Pia devoted countless hours to outdoor exploration, developing a deep appreciation for nature’s shapes, forms, and textures. Although she had always been drawn to clay, she didn’t formally study pottery until high school. After completing her education, Pia temporarily set pottery aside to pursue her passion for travel. Over the next 15 years, she journeyed extensively, observing how various cultures worldwide incorporated clay and mud into their daily lives—from architectural structures to practical vessels for storing water and food.

When Pia returned to pottery in the early 1990s, her dedication quickly led her to establish a cooperative studio where potters work independently while sharing equipment, materials, and mutual support. Her distinctive pottery is created using a wood kiln, which produces unique effects impossible to achieve through any other firing method.
