INTO THE FIRE

Pia Sillem has been getting together with other ceramic artists since 1995; firing different wood kilns, sharing inspiration, and putting in long hard hours. What started as a joyful opportunity to collaborate, evolved into a better understanding of clay selection and piece placement within the kiln to achieve a desired result. Four times a year, ceramic artists Jan Lovewell, Ron Robb and Jinny Whitehead join Pia at her studio in Earls Cove, British Columbia to fire their ceramics in the wood-fired kiln.
